Stress is a response system of an organism to demands and pressures that arise in our living environment. Stress can cause changes in physical functions, glandular secretions, internal interpretations of a stressful stimulus, etc. Stress plays an important role in illness and health. It is observed that stress leads to diverse bodily reactions like physical weakness or disturbance to life events. Stress stimulates hormonal secretions, which changes the brain’s electrical level. As a result, the rate of breathing, heart rate, and muscle tension may increase. The excessive amount of stress leads to different psycho-physiological disorders. Blood pressure, headache insomnia, respiratory problems, gastrointestinal issues, musculoskeletal problems, genitourinary disorders, body pain, skin diseases are the usual physiological disorders.
Psychological reactions of stress include depression, compulsive behavior, irritability, anger, substance abuse, and suicidal tendencies. We help our clients to identify the causes of the stress and discuss the abilities required to handle stressful situations and avoid the risk of illness too. We give prior importance to better self-management strategies, the ability to adapt to the environment, self-management strategies for coping with stressful situations, the capability to handle strong emotions and feelings, and the potentiality to keep the interpersonal relationships.
Counselling for Anxiety
Anxiety is a very unpleasant state of fear and apprehension. The Anxious person shows the symptoms like high heart rate, shortness of breath, phobias, high vigilance, tiredness, frequent urination, sweating, trembling, worry and apprehension, sleeplessness, difficulty in concentration, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Our Therapist assesses your anxiety level and helps you to adopt the methods for gaining insight into the unconscious roots of anxiety. Cognitive Restructuring is the most effective way to treat an individual with an anxiety disorder. Thought stopping techniques and cognitive rehearsal are also used as other therapeutic methods that we use to help the clients to review and cope up with difficult situations.
